Winning the Web Wins Over Tyler Cruz

The competition versus Tyler Cruz is now over. Guess who won? …Winning the Web! Now is that really a surprise? Tyler Cruz was definitely a worthy opponent, but in the end he was really no match for me and all of my wonderful supporters (and t-shirt lovers).

I want to thank everyone for participating and showing their support. The contest received a huge response with 114 participants who blogged about it and casted their votes. The final score is officially 55-51 (61-53 if you count ineligible votes that did not follow guidelines). Congratulations to all Winning the Web readers. I couldn’t have done it without you guys.

The contest was a big success because it got both Winning the Web and TylerCruz.com over 114 editorial links in just 10 days. However, it was a logistical nightmare in that it was extremely difficult to keep track of votes and enforce unclear rules. If any of you are looking to set up a similar contest, be sure to set tight rules so there isn’t any room for miscommunication later on.

I’ve received t-shirt sizes and shipping addresses from most of the voters. If you haven’t done so already, please contact me with that information so I can get you a beautiful new shirt as soon as possible.

As for the 3 winners of $100 in cold hard PayPal cash, they were randomly generated and are listed below. Congrats and thanks for voting WTW. Clearly, you made the right decision. :) Tyler should be sending you payment soon (to your email address on file).

Again, thanks to all for voting. I will be creating another post soon with link backs to all WTW voters. :)

As for how I beat Tyler Cruz, that’s for a future post. I’ll outline all of the Internet marketing strategies that I effectively used, and what I did to come out on top. Stay tuned!

Congrats Gyutae…and Tyler. In the end you both win ;).

Looks like Tylers last minute push actually helped but maybe he waited a little too long. I didn’t think it would have come out so close but looks like it worked out in the end.

What happened to that linkback to all the voters ? looks like you’ve forgotten to do that after winning.
