gyutae tshirt winning the webLast week Tyler Cruz and I started a competition to see whose blog could receive more votes. After 9 days, Winning the Web is the clear winner with 30 votes. Poor Tyler is stuck at just 11. There are 3 days left in the contest, so if you want a chance to win 1 of 3 $100 cash prizes (only voters of the winning blog are eligible), be sure to vote for Winning the Web by Monday 1/14. You can find out how on the original contest post.

I’ll also be giving away FREE Winning the Web t-shirts to the first 50 voters. I originally had this capped at 30 but I’ve increased it due to high demand. Don’t miss out on this great freebie. To the left, you can see the beautiful t-shirt modeled by yours truly. Pretty cool, hm? Just vote for Winning the Web and I’ll send you one asap (US and International).

Favorite Votes So Far

Winning the Web has received 30 votes so far and all of them are great. Thanks guys! However, two of them are really creative and deserve to be highlighted here. I’ll be giving credit to all voters once the contest is over.

Alan of Affiliate Confession created a very humorous post stating that “Gyutae is a real person with a decent haircut who’s wearing a business jacket and Tyler Cruz is a cartoon character with a gambling problem and poor posture. He also has very shifty eyes.”

Joe of Image Gag is a math whiz who used his logical expertise to predict the winner. Good stuff.

  2. Some very amusing cartoons there!

    I’m actually at 14, sir :)

    I’m also now giving out 150 Entrecard credits folks, so do the right thing and vote for me :P

    There is competition between you two and the reward of voting is interesting.

    Buhahahahhaa I have a major something up my sleeve right now… even though I’m wearing a t-shirt and don’t have any sleeves per say.

    Aww.. I almost feel bad for what Gyutae is going to have to endure…

    Hey Gyutae, thanks for the mention and I’m sure you will win the contest since you’re so far ahead. Even if Tyler doesn’t come close to winning, I’ll still read his blog.

    Definitely an interesting competition and, up until this point, Gyutae’s decision of offering an incentive right from the start has made the difference.

    Its nearly over and Tyler is try to take something out from the nest ?

    Tyler do you think you gonna win from here ?

    Nobody wants a T-shirt, and 150 EC credits = better than 100… Also, Tyler’s giving away free links. I’d have to say that Tyler’s giving away more useful things to win this contest.

    Everybody unsubscribe and go to TylerCruz.com.

    Entrecard cards are worthless.

    Nice pictures & t shirt, btw. And the modelling… I think I’m in love :razz:

    I’m pretty surprised… being a fellow Asian, I thought you’d go for one of those Asian sweatshops that take a buck per shirt… but they look of better quality eh :)

    Ethan, not sure what you are basing it off, besides desperation wanting Tyler to win so you have a chance to win the $100 lol. You should have voted for Gyutae then you wouldn’t have had to worry ;).

    Tyler is hinting at having a secret weapon in the works but I wouldn’t be surprised if Gyutae does as well.

    Lets see the schwag bribe count:

    Vote for tyler and get:
    -150 entrecard credits…not all that hard to get and an extra 50 doesn’t do much
    -a link back to your blog…decent but now that he seems to have lost all his PR hard to say if it will be worthwhile
    -based on current standings, about half as much chance to be in the drawing for the 3 $100 picks

    Vote for Gyutae and get more:
    -100 entrecard credits
    -a link back to your blog
    -a tshirt…even if you don’t want to wear it, it’s pretty obvious Gyutae is on his way up and it won’t be long before he is a celeb and those first set of shirts will be a collector item ;)
    -About twice the chance to be in the drawing for the 3 $100
    -pride of knowing you helped the “underdog” win

    Seems an easy choice to me ;).

    Your contest between both of you have caught some attraction to many readers including johnchow. Since that he has post about it which i wanted to do, i have post another topic on my blog to replace it.

    I don’t want to say you can count your chickens before they hatch, but WTW is going to get another vote in the not-so-distant future. :)

    Go Gyutae! I just voted for you on my blog. Goodluck with the contest :)

    Haha. Great pictures! I LOLd. Anyway, this competition is over! Winning the Web is the surefire winner. Even after John Chow voted Tyler, it didn’t even make much of a difference because the people want Park to win this! :D

    Gyutae,

    Gratz on the 300+ subscriptions!

    Wha .. The time is coming…
    Can Tylercruz crush gyutae at last hour or Gyutae still in good form to win??

    I am pretty sure you will win! BTW, am I qualified for the free shirt, lol

    shifty eyes… lol i don’t know if that’s true.
    i’ll see about getting to this contest tomorrow

    Even though it seemed that things couldn’t be turned around, the post on John’s blog seems to have balanced things.

    Alan Johnson

    lol, Chows reasons for voting for Tyler:

    * He is losing
    * He is a fellow Canadian
    * He asked for my help first

    Not real supportive but since Tyler begged him for the help he got his vote ;). Only thing it seems to help so far is giving Tyler a bunch of lazy arase sheep to vote who can’t even write up 300 word post.

    Mostly just teasing you Tyler ;). But if that was your secret weapon it might not be enough in the end ;)

    @Neil Duckett
    Yeah, I was very impressed by the quality of the entries. Very creative!

    @Tyler Cruz
    Haha, is that all you’ve got?

    @David Chew
    Very interesting indeed. Good results.

    @Affiliate Confession
    Thanks for the support man.

    @Alan Johnson
    You are officially the comment man. I see you on every top commentators list around the web. Great stuff and thanks for commenting! :)

    @Haroon
    Not a chance.

    @Ethan Christ
    No need to be hostile now. This is all in good fun. :) As for entrecard credits, they’re basically useless in my book.

    @The University Kid
    LOL, thanks. Yeah, I got a good deal on the t-shirts but I made sure to stay away from the Asian sweat shops. I’ll send one your way. :)

    @DotDriven
    Thanks for the recap. This is basically ours to win now.

    @Rob Schultz
    Thanks Rob. Looking forward to your vote.

    @Mark Cole
    Thanks for the vote!

    @McBilly
    I’m glad the pictures could provide you with some entertainment. Haha, thanks for the support.

    @Jason
    Thanks! Now on to 1,000…

    @shy guy
    Very dramatic… Maybe you should consider theater.

    @mann3r
    Thanks. Yes, you’re qualified for a shirt. I’ll send you an email soon.

    @ms danielle
    Shifty, shifty… Thanks Danielle, looking forward to it.

    Sure hope Mr. Gyutae wins this :)

    Can’t wait until the results come in!

    -Mike

    Man, Tyler Cruz got John Chow’s vote. That’s gonna give him a chance to come back and win.

    It’s my pleasure Gyutae, commenting on other blogs is always a win-win situation: bloggers take advantage of free content and can build a community around their blog by having active users, readers always find helpful comments useful and the person who is commenting receives traffic and even a backlink thanks to the “top commentators” plugin (I’m using that on my blog as well, active users definitely deserve to be rewarded).

    Based on my observations up until this point, I am receiving a lot of traffic from individual comments as well (not just from being listed as a top commentator) and it makes perfect sense: if you add value to a certain community through your comments and if you help other readers out they will definitely be interested in looking into your blog or website.

    If a person asks a question and you help him/her out, that person will, in most cases, at least visit your blog and, if it is worth it, become a regular reader, it all boils down to providing value to others.

    Best wishes,

    Alan Johnson

    good luck man, good luck!

    Woo hoo, we’re winning !!

    thanks, it seems like a you have won!

    I really really wanted to write about it, but just could not find time last night and I missed the chance to participate in this “different” contest. I don’t mind if I don’t receive the prize but just being a part of this was exciting enough.

    I just got back from a mini-trip so belated thanks and Congrats Gyutae! Also, in just the short few/several days I’ve been gone, you’re already up to 332 readers. Nice!
