revresponseRevResponse (by NetLine) is a new type of ad network that enables website owners to generate revenue by providing users with free business resources such as trade magazine subscriptions, white papers, books, and software trials.

What makes RevResponse different from most other ad networks is that it’s not based on a CPC model (like Google Adsense) nor is it based on affiliate commissions since the offerings are free.

Essentially how it works is publishers place text links, widgets, and banners on their site to promote the free RevResponse business offers. Whenever a user downloads one of these resources, the publisher is paid a fixed fee, usually between $1.50 to $20 depending on the product. According to RevResponse, most of the offers pay out more than $2 and publishers are paid monthly via check or Paypal once they have reached the minimum payout of $25.

Below is an example of a Flash widget available to publishers.

Categories for the free downloads include the following: Agriculture, Automotive, Biotech and Pharmaceutical, Computers, Construction, Education, Engineering, Executive and Management, Finance, Food and Beverage, Government, Health Care, Human Resources, Industrial and Manufacturing, Internet, Information Technolgy, IT - Data Management, IT - Security, IT - Software and Development, IT - Storage, Insurance, Mechanical/Machine, Mee
tings and Travel, Multimedia, Network/Communications, Purchasing and Procurement, Retail, Sales and Marketing, Small and Medium Business, Telecom and Wireless, Trade/Professional Services, Transportation and Logistics, Utility and Energy

That’s a ton of categories but it’s important to note that most of these are focused on business and technology research. If you have a popular site in any of these categories, I imagine it would perform incredibly well using the RevResponse system.

Another cool RevResponse feature is the co-branding option through TradePub. This enables publishers to recommend specific resources and have them display on a page that matches their own page template. This method significantly increases conversion rates without too much effort for site owners.

Overall, RevResponse is a refreshing ad network that caters to a niche target market. Since downloads are free and generally of high quality, there is a ton of potential for publishers to make money online with high conversion rates.

If you own a business or tech-related site, check out some of the offers RevResponse has to offer. Test performance compared to your other monetization streams and optimize accordingly.

RevResponse has a very interesting business model that I will definitely look more into for my other projects. The website is clean and the interface is easy to navigate and use. RevResponse isn’t some drive-by company trying to make a quick buck but is in it for the long term. The staff frequently updates the company blog and was even present at the latest ad:tech conference. Nice work, guys.

Try it out and let us know how it converts.
