Will REAL Unique Content Please Stand Up

The real definition of unique content

So I hear things all the time about having to create “unique content”, unique content, blah blah blah. But what exactly is unique content? I surf the web on a regular basis and honestly, 90% of the stuff out there isn’t unique in a conceptual sense. It’s basically the same thing with the words arranged in a different order. And here is where I think the problem lies. Webmasters are not writing for human eyes and are trying to game the system by stealing ideas and trying to monetize them as their own. They merely just take content that is already out there and summarize it in their own words hoping to make a fortune. Sure this content is “unique” in a grammatical sense and search engines may not exactly be able to pick up on it. But is this adding value to visitors? Maybe they can make a buck or two today, but tomorrow, nothing will differentiate them from the competition and they are bound to fail. So let’s recap… the REAL definition of unique content is as follows:

Application of innovative ideas or thoughts that are new conceptually rather than simply just different semantically.

Got it?

Reflect on your own web sites and money making strategy. Are you takings things already available and changing it for the search engines? Or are you trying to come up with valuable new and unique content that will be useful to your visitors? The latter is the much better long-term business strategy and you will reap the benefits in the years to come as you make money online.
