The competitions have been great! We’ve gotten a lot of feedback from our publishers as to what they’re looking for in a competition, and have tried to apply that to each new contest. We’re always open to suggestions as to how we can improve- if you have a competition idea, let us know.

Yeah, I agree. Affiliate marketing is becoming very saturated and there aren’t many top affiliates who aren’t already signed up with most networks. By requiring people to sign up under him to play, Tyler will mainly attract newbies – which won’t maximum his income. Still, I know the site is doing very well so far so kudos to Tyler.

Hey Tyler,
That’s understandable…

How about mixing different affiliate networks in the same competition?

For example, having an online competition like the Top Affiliate Challenge Show where affiliates are placed into teams representing different networks. Then the entire winning team gets prizes. Something like that…

Anyway, I understand the limitations but I just feel like it can be so much more by opening things up.

I basically think the same about publisher challenge. It is definitely an impressive site, but needs a way to get all people involved, whether or not they are already with the affiliate companies. The site does have a lot of good competitions going though so I think it will do really well.

You certainly aren’t the first one to recommend opening the competitions up to everyone, but this is something I cannot do for the following reasons (as taken from our FAQ):

1. We are only able to track the statistics and commissions of our own referrals.

2. If we allowed all affiliates to participate then it would be near impossible to win anything since publishers would essentially be competing against every single other affiliate in the network, which is usually at least 10,000 per network.

3. Affiliate networks generally run competitions with us and put up prizes to bring in new referrals. It is not beneficial for them to keep spending prizes on existing affiliates.

4. While PublisherChallenge aims to give out great prizes and provide a service, is not a non-profit charity. We put a lot of our referral income back into the site through new features, improvements, and upkeep.

I agree with you the biggest limitation is it does not open to current affiliate under the network.
