Success Factors – What It Takes to Be Successful

January 11, 2009 - Written by Gyutae Park

preventialWhat does it take to be successful? If you run an online business, you know how difficult it can be to reach your goals and make money online. My buddy Derek Halpern of Prevential is currently writing a blog series about success factors where he describes how people and companies achieve success. Do you have what it takes to be successful?

Derek is writing a post in the series everyday for the month of January. He’s already included articles about putting all of your eggs in one basket (going against common thought), learning from your competition, avoiding decision making mistakes, and prioritizing what’s important now. Basically it’s the closest thing to a success formula (if such a thing even exists) and will motivate you to develop the mindset of a successful businessperson.

derek halpernAs for Derek, he has some good credentials to back himself up. He’s also one of the most driven and ambitious people I know. He’s a recent college grad who earns a six figure income blogging (along with a day job for a Fortune 100  company), already owns a home, reads over 90 books in a year, and wakes up at 4:30 am daily for productivity’s sake. Crazy! Read more on Derek’s story.

Be sure to check out the Prevential Success Factors blog series. Discovering just a few more factors could catapult you and your online business to the next level.

Success is a very judgmental topic because I believe success is measured by an individual’s own outcome and goals. Success will not be the same for anyone because only that a person can know within themselves if they are successful or not.

And thats the thing Donny. I’m not defining success for peopl and in my post “How to Set and Achieve Business Goals,” I talk about just that. Success isn’t about money or business. It’s about setting goals and achieving them.

Nice looking start to the series over there.

4:30 am every day, eh? What about the nights when you party until 2:00 am?! 🙂

On the off chances I do go out with some friends, I make an exception. But, that might happen around 5 days a year. Additionally, there are times I wake up later because of working late, but generally 4:30 – 5:00 is a good average time I wake up.
