PPC Classroom 2.0 Review – Will It Make You Millions?

October 16, 2008 - Written by Gyutae Park

ppc classroomSo what does it take to make $2.4 million in one year doing PPC affiliate marketing? Is it even possible? Amit Mehta, a full-time affiliate marketer and blogger over at Super Affiliate Mindset is living proof that it is. In just a couple of years, Amit went from a Physics grad student highly in debt, to a super affiliate making millions promoting products he doesn’t even own.

So how does he do it? Well now you can supposedly learn Amit’s super affiliate secrets and “exact step-by-step strategies” that have made him so successful. Amit has teamed up with Anik Singal to launch PPC Classroom 2.0 to the masses, an interactive e-learning system that teaches PPC affiliate marketing. Anik has pretty good credentials himself – being one of the finalists in Business Week’s poll for America’s Top Young Entrepreneurs.

I bought into it

So being a PPC affiliate marketing student and coming off of a win against Tyler Cruz in an affiliate marketing showdown, I was intrigued by this latest class taught by the best. Like most other high-profile Internet marketing products, PPC Classroom comes with a huge launch filled with hype and fanfare. It’s tough to look through the fluff and all of the empty promises, but in the end I thought that this one could be worth the money. The price? $77 in the first month and $29.97 for every month after that. That’s actually not too bad for a big launch product like this – although they do try to upsell you like 3 times for additional high ticket products throughout the checkout process. Enticing, but no thanks.

Quick overview

I’m going to show you the back end interface of PPC Classroom and then tell you what I think about the product overall. From there you can decide whether or not you’d like to make the investment as well. Sound good?

Alright, so let’s get into what PPC Classroom 2.0 has to offer. First the learning modules…

ppc classroom modules

There are 9 modules in total that take you through the entire process of setting up a PPC campaign for affiliate marketing – everything from market research to bid optimization.

The membership also comes with some bonuses that may come in handy including landing page templates, graphics packages, PPC process maps, and additional resources. Additionally, PPC Classroom owns a suite of tools that may help you in optimizing your PPC campaigns.

My thoughts on PPC Classroom

Overall, PPC Classroom promises to be an end-all affiliate marketing guide that practically gives you profitable campaigns on a silver platter. Like all things too good to be true, it falls short of that promise. PPC Classroom is a good comprehensive overview of affiliate marketing strategies, but there’s nothing in there that will instantly make you rich. In fact, I can’t find a single thing that would set Amit apart from other affiliates and enable him to make millions of dollars. PPC affiliate marketing takes a lot of hard work, experience, and luck. You can read about it all you want, but at the end of the day you need to go out there and do it for yourself.

Another thing that I noticed is that the modules are actually very brief and read like blog posts rather than detailed studies. Sure, they’re concise and easy to read, but you would expect more out of a course that’s supposed to teach you everything there is to know about affiliate marketing. As an example, one of Amit’s blog posts, Keyword Research Secrets to Explode Your Affiliate Business, is actually pretty similar to one of the keyword modules.

The Verdict

Again, you really can’t expect to succeed in affiliate marketing by reading a manual. You have to go out there and try it out for yourself. However, as an overview guide for a newbie, PPC Classroom is very good to get started. If you’re already experienced in PPC affiliate marketing and are looking for some sort of silver bullet to make you millions, you probably won’t find it in this course.

With it’s star-studded staff and marketing, PPC Classroom has already generated $700,000 in sales in just the past day. There’s been a lot of hype around the product, but don’t let that fool you. It’s just a guide and there really are no secrets.

If you don’t want to shell out the monthly fee to access PPC Classroom, I highly recommend you check out Paul Borque’s UberCamp Tutorials and Uber Affiliate Marketing Guide. In all honesty, the content in those 2 free resources are just as good, if not better than what’s offered in PPC Classroom.

But don’t take my word for it. Try out PPC Classroom 2.0 and see for yourself. 🙂

Thanks for this great review. It’s the first one actually telling people to not waste their money for stuff we can get for free elsewhere. Thanks again.

Gyutae Park on October 16th, 2008

No problem Miha. I’m just being completely honest here. PPC Classroom is a great course, but it’s not all that different than the content already freely available. Not only that, but there really aren’t any secrets out there to be successful in affiliate marketing. It’s all about trial and error.

Yeah I enjoy reading such review. Honest and no hypes at all. Thanks

That’s what my reviews are all about – honest and without the hype. That’s what marketing is for.

I hear what you say but it can save a lot of time when someone can deliver a complete set of information like this and for only $77 I think it is worth the time and cost. It would take a lot more to get up to speed with adwords. Of course it should not be viewed as some fast or easy solution. The people who took the first course and did well had to spend some serious time and work to learn it well.

Gyutae Park on October 17th, 2008

Hey Warner,
Thanks for your input. I don’t doubt that at all. Convenience is definitely a reason why people buy information products, even though most of the content is available for free online. For $77, I think PPC Classroom is worth the investment for newbie affiliate marketers.

However, my main concern is that the product is being marketed as a step-by-step guide to affiliate marketing riches. This is hardly the case. PPC takes a lot of work and patience!

I did sign up but haven’t had the time to go in depth with the training. I bought the upsell videos which I didn’t watch yet, but also gets me a seat for the PPC Classroom live seminar if I can afford the trip out to CA in Dec. I better get cranking in some $$ if I’m going to be able to go out there.

I was expecting a little more from PPC Classroom 2.0, given the hype surrounding it. I’m not sure which upsell would have gained me access to the forums, or if they would have been worth it.

I decided to join PPC Classroom 2 after hearing Amit’s presentation on PPC during The Black Ink Project, which was a free, in depth course on affiliate marketing put out by Jeremy Palmer of QuitYourDayJob.com. He also did a follow up to it with The Black Ink 2. I learned a great deal from both of these. Jeremy also gave a crash course on designing with Dreamweaver and Fireworks, which was very beneficial to me.

Hey Brian,
Amit is a well-spoken PPC affiliate marketer who definitely has the skills to teach and coach newbies just getting started. I too was expecting a little more from PPC Classroom. There’s been a ton of hype around it but the content is hardly spectacular.

You should try and make it out to the live event because it’ll be a great opportunity for you to network with others and learn from the gurus in person. That’s worth more than the content membership in my opinion.

Dude, great review. I appreciate the honesty. That’s why I’m a RSS subscriber.

Gyutae Park on October 17th, 2008

Thanks Jeremy, I appreciate that. Honesty is something I believe in when it comes to reviewing products so you can always count on me for that.

One thing I did never understand. Why someone who is making millions is bothering selling a product for $77?
I think this is the only way these guys are making money.

Gyutae Park on October 17th, 2008

Haha, I definitely hear your frustration. A lot of times it seems like these “gurus” are just selling products without too much expertise themselves. However, I can vouch for Amit in this case. He’s a great affiliate marketer who’s doing some insane numbers.

PPC Classroom has generated $700,000 in 1 day. So I wouldn’t be surprised if this product makes more money for them than their affiliate marketing efforts.

Brian Weaver on October 17th, 2008 Subscribed to comments via email

These guys aren’t making a profit in the millions. They advertise their gross income and not their net. Net = after expenses, such as what you get on your check from work after taxes.

If you do any reading on the subject of business, you will see to actually “make it”, you will need to create some sort of product of your own. On this point, Anik and Amit did 1 heck of a job.

I did a little more of the course last night and I definitely like the format. It is self paced and I think that the quizzes will help alot of people. Just my new 2 cents 🙂

Gyutae Park on October 17th, 2008

Cool, thanks for sharing Brian! I’ll have to dig deeper into the course myself.

You’re certainly right about the gross income thing. They advertise that Amit does $2.4 million per year, but who knows what his actual profit is. Probably closer to $1 million.

As for the course content, has it been actionable for you? Are you learning things that you can profit from immediately?

Well, from what I went through last night, I recall that learning how to tell the “good” offers in a category on Clickbank and Commision Junction, was good for me. And that is just getting started in the course. Hopefully, the real “nuggests will come when learning what Amit has to say about different aspects of PPC.

As for running right out with what I’ve learned from the course thus far, not gonna happen, but I’ve only just started. Even, when I’m done with the course, it will still take testing and trying and some time and hard work. However, I’m sure if I put the course to work step by step, it will make me some profits. Will it make me rich overnight.. nope! 🙂

Gyutae Park on October 18th, 2008

Very cool. That’s what I would have figured. PPC Classroom shows you what you need to do, but in the end I think you need to figure out how to do it on your own through rigorous testing and experimentation. Experience is the best teacher in my book, but some guidance doesn’t hurt either.

Thank’s for the great links Gyutae to UberCamp Tutorials & Uber Affiliate Marketing Guide. I am going to start reading and learning some from these, I have always liked the idea of trying some affiliate marketing and you show here that it clearly can work very well when the right tequniques are used. So here we come newbie guides 🙂

Gyutae Park on October 18th, 2008

No problem. Paul Borque is a pretty popular affiliate who does pretty well for himself and knows what he’s talking about. I really like those affiliate marketing guides – they’re very comprehensive and insightful. Good luck with your start as an affiliate.

Dennis Edell on October 17th, 2008

As a total newbie to PPC (not even once yet) I appreciate this as I was thinking of joining..sounds like I should try the Ubers first.

Brian Weaver on October 17th, 2008 Subscribed to comments via email

I’d also check out Jeremy Palmer’s ebook. It’s free, but you do have to give him your email address. It’s worth it and you will get emailed when he launches The Black Ink Project 2, which I’m also assuming will be free again. The book is at http://www.quityourdayjob.com/learning .

Gyutae Park on October 18th, 2008

Thanks for the link. I’ve heard about the Black Ink Project but am yet to actually try it out.

Interesting review, Thanks!
What do you think on tools such as PPCBully?
Should it help affiliates being effective in PPC Affiliate marketing
Regards, Ginger

Gyutae Park on October 18th, 2008

Interesting. I see that you’re a PPC Bully affiliate.
I’ve never used the tool myself but have heard of it here and there. Basically, it’s another one of those PPC spy services that claims to “uncover winning combinations of Keywords, Ads, Landing Pages and even Merchants, enabling you to create more profitable campaigns by knowing up front what works (and what doesn’t).”

That all sounds fine and dandy, but there problem is that if a lot of affiliates use the service, it’ll lose its competitive advantage. The best route to take is to do your own testing and work from that. Tools like PPC Bully should only be used as a starting point for a campaign.

Dominating the internet is huge today. Many old fashioned marketers will suffer to the younger internet savvy businessmen. Great site..I enjoy your feed.
