Happy new year! I hope that a new year brings increased motivation and bigger goals for me and for all of you. 2007 was a great year. The Internet made huge strides and Winning the Web was born. Below are some of the most popular articles from the past year.
- Win a Free $400 Review From John Chow - You Can’t Miss This
The contest that exploded Winning the Web and put it on the graph. The contest helped me to make new contacts in the industry, land guest posting gigs, and catapult the blog to 250+ RSS subscribers and an Alexa rank under 100,000. To learn more on how you can start a crazy contest yourself, read the post on How to Create a Crazy Contest that Will Explode Your Site - Let’s Go Blog Hopping! (Must be 21 or Over)
A project started to encourage the blogging community to connect and experience new blogs and ideas. Be sure to take part in the blog hopping. It’s loads of fun. - Win a Free Blog Audit & Improve Your Blog Now

My experiment of spinning a story to the top of Sphinn worked like a charm. - Interview with Tyler Cruz, an Internet Entrepreneur
A great interview with Tyler Cruz, an Internet entrepreneur who works on his online empire from home. This interview offers great insights and advice for anyone trying to start out and making a living online. Be sure to read this. - How to Brainstorm New Ideas For Your Website
Even on the Internet, everything is about having ideas and executing them to their maximum potential. This is a great guide to get you started in brainstorming for great ideas that can make you money.
2008 New Years Resolutions for Winning the Web
These resolutions are similar to the SMART goals I previously laid out but I wanted to further expound on them with action items so that you are able to relate and find motivation through them.
- Post at least once a day
I find that posting once a day leads to the greatest exposure for the blog without sacrificing quality. Frequency will depend on how much time you have available and what the priority of your blogs are. For me, once a day is the way to go. - Include the application and how-to in articles
Many blogs are frustrating because they either simply report news or write fluff without actually providing any valuable content that is applicable. I want to avoid both scenarios and provide my readers the best quality Internet marketing advice that is fresh and worthwhile. Feedback is always appreciated. - 1,000 RSS & $1,000 revenue
The goal for this blog is to reach 1,000 RSS subscribers by July 2008 and $1,000 in revenue per month.

Good luck with your goals and, as far as I am concerned, I would like to cross the 100k unique monthly visits mark (I am currently averaging about 1k unique visits per day), have my ebook read by at least 50k people and build a community around my blog by the end of 2008.
Best wishes,
Alan Johnson
