I’m Going to Elite Retreat - My Crazy Winning Streak

elite-retreat.jpgWow, I sure am on a roll. If you remember a couple months back, I won a free full conference pass to the Affiliate Summit on Ian Lee’s blog. Now I’ve just learned that I won a free ticket worth $4,995 to the Elite Retreat conference held in San Francisco on April 3-4 (along with Zac Johnson). Pretty good winning streak if you ask me. John Chow held the contest, which was sponsored by up and coming affiliate network Rocket Profit. Basically, the contest called for readers to choose an offer on the Rocket Profit network and to write up a blog post describing the strategy they would use to promote it and make money. You can view my entry here: Make Money Online with Rocket Profit Affiliate Marketing - A Step by Step Example.

This will be a great opportunity for me to learn from some of the industry greats and to take my Internet business to the next level. I’ve heard a lot of great things about Elite Retreat and I’m very excited to attend. I admit that the $5k price tag is pretty steep, but I guess I won’t have to worry about that this time around. Thanks John Chow! Thanks Rocket Profit!

Below is a list of the speakers at Elite Retreat and my thoughts on each.

Jeremy Schoemaker
I used to listen to Shoemoney’s show back in the day when it used to be called Net Income. He’s been a big inspiration for me and I’m interested in learning more from him and his expertise in SEM and affiliate marketing. He’s a great speaker and does a great job dealing with his online “celebrity” status.

Neil Patel
Having graduated college just last year, I can definitely relate to Neil and what he’s going through by running a business while still in school. Neil has a unique approach in dealing with things and it’s crazy how well he has grasped marketing concepts at such a young age. I’m excited to learn from him about his experiences with ACS and his success with social media marketing.

Aaron Wall
Aaron’s SEO Book first led me to SEO and now I’m doing it professionally for a top agency. I’d love to meet him and bounce ideas off of him at the one-on-one sessions. Not only is Aaron an expert in SEO, but he can pretty much do everything well in Internet business.

Brian Clark
Writing isn’t really my forte but Brian has opened my eyes to a lot of things on his copywriting blog, Copy Blogger. I also just recently became a member of Teaching Sells and it’s amazing how Brian sells so well. I initially swore I wouldn’t get sucked into the Teaching Sells program but now I’m glad I’m a member.

Andy Liu
I haven’t really heard of Andy too much but his credentials are definitely there. I don’t see too many Wharton MBA’s involved in Internet business, but his BuddyTV is one of the best. Entrepreneurship has always been an interest of mine so I’m glad Andy is on board.

Guy Kawasaki
Venture capitalist and top blogger, Guy Kawasaki totally gets my respect. It’d be an honor just to shake his hand and hear what he has to say.

Overall, I’m very excited for this conference. I’ll be blogging about my experiences so be sure to check back and subscribe to the RSS feed. See everyone in San Francisco (well after Affiliate Summit in Vegas anyway). :)

  2. Congrats sir! I haven’t read Chow in MONTHS! Otherwise I would have certainly entered :-P That’s one HELL of a prize. Is that just the seminar? You have to cover your airfare/board/etc.?

Thanks Tevin. Yep, it’s just the seminar but I’m not too worried about the airfare and board as I have someone I will be staying with in SF.
