Crazy Contest Rages On - Some Preliminary Stats Revealed

So this biggest thing happening on Winning the Web right now is the Craziest Internet Marketing Contest You’ve Ever Seen. I’ve tried to put out some Internet marketing articles, but no one seems to really want anything other than contest clues.
The contest has been huge, shaking up the blogosphere and gaining a lot of traction. It’s only been a week since it was launched and yet I’ve managed to gain hundreds of links, 300+ RSS subscribers, and a lot of interested participants. It should be a good one! I can’t wait to see what happens on March 31.
I thought I’d share some of my statistics since I know a lot of you are curious as to how I am marketing this and how I’ve been able to gain so much exposure so far. I’ll leave the step-by-step analysis for the end of the contest, but you’ll be able to extract a lot of what I am doing by looking at some of the screen shots below. Enjoy.

The highest day for the contest saw over 2,000 pageviews. This was the day StumbleUpon went crazy and when the contest post hit the front page of Sphinn.

For the first week of the contest, I was able to gain over 350 leads. This is a great way for me to get in direct contact with people interested in participating in the contest. If you want to develop your own mailing list, I recommend you try out Aweber.

The top 8 pages that received the most traffic during the contest thus far.

The top referrals to Winning the Web during the week of the contest. StumbleUpon sent the most amount of traffic but I honestly expected more after Contest Clue #1. Maybe they’ve figured me out. Hmm…
Any thoughts or questions? I’ll keep you all updated. The next 2 weeks should be very very interesting. ![]()

pretty cool stats
John Chow referrals definitely held their own. Thanks for sharing these stats w/ me Gyutae… I’ve been really interested as to how the contest has affected your traffic levels! When StumbleUpon goes crazy, traffic can get insanely high
Keep up the great work w/ the contest
Stumble traffic can provide a quick hit, but they often don’t come back. We also have to keep in mind some of those numbers are us earning our entries and not new visitors.

Yeah, StumbleUpon traffic can be a quick hit, but for a shocking contest like this, I think people are forced to at least read more before skipping to the next page!
Hope someone will win the contest and am eager to see who soon
They are some nice stats.
Would you like to share your revenue rise too ?
Thanks for sharing the stats. How about a chart that shows prize growth. That would be neat to see.
Michael
I agree, any correlation between prize growth and traffic?
Interesting stats. Glad you shared.
Very interesting to see those stats. Thanks for sharing. The contest has gone so well. I cannot wait for it to end.
I’ve been watching your feed stats go up and it’s pretty impressive. YOu might get to 1,000 before this whole thing is over.
I am not too surprised with the stat…This blog diserve for that as this is a very interesting contest.
It’s interesting contest clues are helpful I believe. (: I believe I am doing to donate $5.00 to make sure I am in on the entire contest, make someone else’s easter a little better.
