Clue #17 - Fun with Flash

flashFutureROI is a sponsor for the contest giving away a free custom Wordpress design worth $200. They say that they specialize in Flash so I wanted to get all of your input on some of the best websites online using Flash technology. Flash isn’t always the most SEO-friendly but it does make for a very eye-pleasing and interactive environment.

The action is this:

Leave a comment in this post with your favorite website or page that uses Flash technology. Games, presentations, and designs are all fair game. Sharing will give you 1 extra entry.

When used appropriately, Flash can add a new dimension to your website. Maybe you can get a new Flash design from FutureROI.

    CandyStand.com has cool flash games.

OK, this isn’t my favorite website but, it uses flash, sounds like a fun place to go, and the menu made me hungry.

    Hey Gyutae,

My favorite website that uses flash is http://www.agencynet.com/

    It’s super cool!

http://www.tgstudios.com/ is a designer of Flash sites. they have done some truly amazing work. Check out some of their clients sites.

Thanks for sharing Brian, they really have a nice lineup of clients and have done some great work!

http://ff0000.com/ is pretty cool… They have also done some nice flash designs ;)

I don’t know if it’s “fun”, but this Flash Chart application is a nice way to display data, without feeding it to Google’s Chart API

Cool pie chart on there. Flash is more useful then I thought.

I think http://www.bobsaget.com/ does a good job with the flash on his site. It always cracks me up too when I go to his site.

    That cigar animation is awesome.

Pretty cool sites everyone has listed. I don’t really have any great flash sites in mind…but I suppose I’ll go with http://www.worldofwarcraft.com because it was a bada** game. :-)

    http://laser.narr.as/laser.swf
this might be the first one - simple concept, difficult as hell game :) just try it out (the “fun” starts at level 10+)
as for a “real” website: http://2advanced.com/ (cripples down my 6-yr-old computer, but still a great flash site)

My favorite is Adobe’s own Kuler. :-)

    My favorite is http://www.FreedomOfTheSeas.com/
It gives you an almost-real personal tour to their cruise ship. Must see.

Flash is everywhere now - and thanks to YouTube, it’s global. YouTube is very much dependent on flash - but the compression they use is terrible. Metacafe and MSN Videos (formerly The Soapbox) are much better.

    Also,
    http://www.theorphanagemovie.com/
is pretty cool! And the film was amazing as well.

lifetips.com has a clean simple site with flash elements on there advertising page for tip services

http://www.brainwaves.nl/ is a very cool and professional looking site

I really like the flash game ZWOK! It’s a super addictive turn-based multiplayer online game similar to scorched earth.

    Check it out at: http://zwok-game.com/en_GB/

    Adios! GT

For a real time killer visit http://www.gamesforwork.com/games/ 8000+ flash games.

    Mike

    pegball.com is cool

    http://www.northkites.com

I like the style of the site, and im a massive kiteboarding fan. They have cool videos.

In all honesty, im not a big flash fan on the whole. I find the sites rarely work as they should.

I really like http://futureroi.com/ flash header. I think its simple clean, yet very eye pleasing.

I like Starcraft2.com’s implementation of Flash and XML.

My kids and I use http://www.pbskids.org. Great site for kids.

I like this flash game, http://www.ferryhalim.com/orisinal/g3/bells.htm

I think my high score is like 2 trillion or something.

    http://www.big.dk/

although not the best for search engine placement..

it has an awesome, simple style and its quite effective..

When filling out my NCAA tournament brackets this year, I just loved the flash used on the Coke Rewards site that allowed you to customize your preferences (Traditional v. Upstarts, Small v. Large Conferences, etc.) before spitting you out a customized CBS bracket that you could then alter if you found something egregiously wrong.

I’m going to have to be lame and go with the one that everyone already knows but 2advanced.com is just always amazing. I still remember back YEARS ago when I first discovered it and even back then it was way ahead of the game with flash design and usability. Checking it out every time there was an new design was always an inspiration regardless if I used flash or not.

After everything, 2advanced.com is still the best.
