Many of my friends say Blogger templates are not ideal for money making blogs. At first I didn’t pay attention to their advice since I am also new to blogging. Just lately I began to realize they are correct. All of the top bloggers in the blogosphere are using wordpress-inspired layouts so that you can really play monetization of your landing pages which I think blogger is not capable. Besides, blogger designs have no navigation bar on top for Home, About Me Page, etc. I hope you can help me Mr. Park.

Andrew Pavelski on March 26th, 2008

Mr. Nice Guy, you’re absolutely right. Blogger templates are usually viewed as “bad” and a turnoff. Custom themes do a great job at attracting traffic and keeping people subscribed to your blog. Best of luck 😉

(Comments wont nest below this level)

I would do anything to get a UBD designed blog with a logo too! I am not an expert on weblogs but am learning each day. Spent quite a while trying to center my banner but couldn’t get rid of the box to the right on my site next to the banner. I need it because…I work the overnight shift and have all night to read the sites like johnchow, shoemoney, zacjohnson, johncow and the many others that are helping me towards my goal of getting off of this overnight shift and being able to work from home and spending time with my two little peanuts (www.dailybooz.com/images/misc/twopeanuts.jpg). Having a clean, professional site would help draw readers. I would like to make subdomains with local news to each major city throughout the US at some point down the road. PLEASE, PICK ME, lol. Thanks

I have been around for a almost a year now, and seems that KKBlog is here to stay, i have had my ups and downs with this blog! I recently am trying to breath new life into the blog with respect to design and overall look and feel of the website! I think that is key to attain and keep your main audience and if the readers are engaged with the site, just by the means of aesthetics, they are more likely to pay attention to already outstanding content. I think an overall revamp of my website would be beneficial to my readers in terms of design and allow me as a student to bring in some much needed revenue and give me practice in the realm of affiliate marketing and SEO. Now what I wrote mostly seems like i am applying for the free web design, but as you can see on the rest of my blog its a fun place where readers can express themselves as they wish, and enjoy the content in simple and clear lay out (pronounce: lack of skill, kept simple by lack of programming know how). I would love to crush johncow! Design wise i really can’t compete. That is all! hehe

This comment has been approved by http://www.thekingkongblog.com and the government of canada.

Thanks!

I’ll prefer an exclusive design from UBD.
The first thing I need is the simplest navigation for my readers as well as information visibility for first time visitors. Visitors should be able to figure out what my blog is about and what kinds of information they can find in my blog. I expect all those are expressed on first visit, above the fold (if possible… hahaha…)
My second concern is for SE bots. Layouts will need to prioritize contents to be read first instead of menus. Header, sidebars and footers will need to support white hat and legit SEO techniques. Additional plugin can be attached if necessary.
Last but not least is for advertisers. I’d prefer an ad placement design which put ads on a prominent spots. However, they should not interfere with readers’ reading enjoyment nor distracting them from what they read.
I need someone to bring up those three requirements into one solution since I realize my design skill isn’t a skill at all :). The URL is on my name.

I think all of the prized you have are cool. Winning any one of them would be a pleasure.

If you look at my blog you will see that it is a slight modification of the minimal design from blogger. The header I made myself and as you can tell I have no creative graphic experience.

I agree Michael, whether I win a theme or any other prize, I’ll be happy 😉 All of the prizes are great!

I would love help like this. I would use it on my site http://www.kitefreestyle.com to move it from a static page to a totally dynamic website where I could have so many more features. This help would be greatly appreciated. I have already got big plans for this but feel the website is letting me down.

Eric on March 24th, 2008

I could really use an amazing logo for my blog! I’ve been trying myself for years now to come up with something to use with personal branding projects, but I just can’t come up with anything that’s me. It would be for http://www.ericdelabar.com/, which is pretty ugly right now because the stylesheet is disabled, but a logo may help focus my design a little.

Alex on March 24th, 2008

Hello,

We would really need some pimping up – with a nice, original and exclusive theme that would reflect the fun nature of the site – http://www.surveysam.com – for the blog that we are working on and that will be an integral part of the site.
Thanks!

Eric Nagel on March 24th, 2008

I’m perfectly happy with my blog, but I want another entry into the contest 🙂

If anything, I think I just need to move the “Notify me of followup comments via e-mail” line above the comments box on an individual post page, such as this page.

The opportunity to add design-related excellence to my web products would further add value to clients while saving me the cost of doing it myself 🙂

I would like a web 2.0 style of look, so I could build this into a community based website. Currently it is still working with just wordpress and looks nice, but adding a register button would be cool!

I would love to have any of the design services for my blog that I want to launch. right now I only have the domain name and hosting but not logo or design yet.

I could use these services because I’ve incorporated and would like to revamp the look of Merendi.com.

Emma on March 24th, 2008 Subscribed to comments via email

I’m pretty happy with what I’ve got going on at my blog right now. It’s not perfect but working on it and tweaking it, is a learning experience for me.

But if I were the lucky winner of one of the banner design, blog theme, coding prizes; I would go all the way and like to win the custom blog design from pixel jig and the wordpress coding from CSS rockstars, that would be an expensive prize but it would be a complete custom blog which would be a cool prize.

Although I could probably find a use for some exclusive themes or a logo as well.

WTW Prize Sponsor, Pingo, needs your help!

Unique Blog Designs…HELP Pimp SuperAffiliateBluePrint.com

http://www.SuperAffiliateBluePrint.com site looks like that old duck taped together Honda that get pulled into the “Pimp My Car” garage. The site needs plenty of design improvements.

– it was built on freewebs and the platform is a pain.
– the url is just a redirect
– It looks so BLAH…..

What it does have is strong affiliate marketing 101 content. As an affiliate manager, you get a ton of basic questions and I tried to develop content to help answer these points. The site was built with my lack of website design skills that I have. I still can’t figure out how to set up a wordpress blog. Are internal resources are backed up to help out on the Pingo site as we are focused on a redesign that launched last week.

If choosen, I hope to continue to provide strong affiliate tips to help support the affiliate marketing community.

Tim on March 24th, 2008

Hi Gyutae,

I desperately need a blog redesign, so any of those would be a really amazing prize to win! I love UBD’s work, that may be my favorite of them all, and hopefully that comes with a logo/brand design as well 😀

Right now, I am using Drupal as my blogging platform, and it’s really not working out. It’s like driving a old beat up Civic when there’s a pimped out Mercedes Benz right next to me, in the form of WordPress.

Ok, don’t hate me, I still love Drupal, but for blogging it’s not making the cut.

Right now, I’m using a standard free theme, but since barely anyone uses Drupal, it is, at least, slightly unique. However I know for sure that it is something holding my blog back from growing. It’s not leaving a big enough impression, and I need a much better *branded* design.

Now that I’ve decided to switch over to WordPress, I’m going to have to change the design, and I would definitely rather have a unique design right off the bat instead of having to use some totally overused free WordPress theme.

After more than 4 months of serious blogging, a unique look and image is long overdue.

So please Xzibit… umm I mean Gyutae, Pimp my Blog!

Unique blog designs! The very name fills me with happiness and anticipation! I have been blogging for a while, from Blogger to Livejournal (not REALLY blogging, but still…) to WordPress.com and finally graduating to the big(ger) leagues – a place of my own. A room with a view!

My blog has gone from few readers and fewer comments to a thriving, bustling center for conversation about health, healing and how to be a great student. As I hope to operate the blog for a long time, I’ve been thinking recently what my next step should be…

While the fantastic free (slightly modified) theme that I use at http://deepesthealth.com is lovely and has served my purposes thus far, I do think design matters, and it may be time to leave the free theme nest. Fly little bird!

Unfortunately, my starving student (and parent) lifestyle doesn’t afford me much wiggle room in the ole web-dev budget. Sad, I know. So, I’m hoping against hope that Deepest Health might get a facelift courtesy of this contest.

What do I want? All of it! 😀

Seriously though? I think right now, it is:
Exclusive Blog Themes from Unique Blog Designs

I like my current theme, but it doesn’t stand out. Thanks to widgets and everything else I have managed to, I think, build a good basis. It has good internal linking, displays a lot of information, and isn’t overly busy.

But I want something that pops out at people. Something that makes them stop and want to check out the rest of it. I get a lot of traffic on specific pieces I’ve done, but I want something to help keep the people coming back. A fantabulous cool new design would go a long ways towards that. I’ve already started the marketing and everything else to get myself and my PageRank up.. now when people find me I want them to stay!

Besides, I want something unique that no one else has. I don’t want someone to see my theme and say “Didn’t I see that last week at…..”

Wisdom on March 24th, 2008

Hi,

This is a great contest you are running. I am still using the Misty Look theme that John Chow was using last year over at http://blog.teethremoval.com. A Unique blog design would allow me to better monetize my site and make it’s appearance more appealing.

Right now it is not being monetized very effectively and there is way too much “blank” space that is not being used. Further a Unique blog design would allow me to feel more motivated about blogging and help me provide even better content to readers. This could help spread the world about wisdom teeth removal and hopefully cause the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons to adopt the same policy as The British National Institute for Clinical Excellence.

I need a fully pro web desgin! but I don’t have 100’s of dollars! the new theme will play a key role with seo, more traffic and good looking too but the most important thing with this new theme is to beat the internet guru who cheated and beated me in a BIG contest like this 🙁 if any one provides support then i’ll be there to beat him and will show the power of small bloggers like me! 🙁
bytheway my blog is http://techtreak.com

I have the plan and idea on want to do for those cunning net guru who tries to takes the net world into there hands! so I still need support! but I don’t want to reveal his name!

The prize that I really think will benefit my blog is the custom made blog theme (fully coded) from Uzzz. It sounds so enticing because my blog is using someone elses theme right now and that is definitely not something you want to be doing when you want to stand out from the crowd.

I think it will truly help http://www.leftofme.com immensely because of the unique design that it will be getting, coupled with the posts that I make will make it a whole new experience to visitors. Regular visitors will also welcome the change other than the bland white background it currently has.

Jason on March 25th, 2008

Well, I think the “WordPress Coding from CSS Rockstars” prize fits my needs exactly right now. Trend Spike has experienced a great deal of success since its launch. It’s my first blog, and I really wasn’t sure how it would turn out. After gaining some confidence, (thanks to my readers and supporters) I’ve recently been working on an all new custom design for my site. I will be re-launching soon with a new design and logo….and a ton of new features. I really want to come back into the blogosphere with a big bang. I don’t expect my blog to be like any other currently on the web, and I have a unique niche to work with.

Although the design (which I’m extremely excited about) is nearly finished, I haven’t hired a coder yet. Winning this prize would be a huge help in bringing Trend Spike to the next level.

Oh man, I really could use a freshening up on my blog. I love good looking blogs, I know what looks good, but unfortunately my dad kept all of the artistic genes to himself. I can’t draw, paint, or sketch and I think it shows on my blog. I just know that if I win the exclusive blog design, it will help me gain confidence and propel my blog to the next level!
Thanks Gyutae!

This might be lame excuse. But to get exclusive web design , I have to spent somewhere around USD x 3.2 in my local currency. This is a lot for me compared to what I earn on monthly basis. If I could get it, i would be very grateful.

Flimjo on March 26th, 2008

I wouldn’t mind a design from Unique Blog Designs. I need some design help, especially with my header, footer, etc. I have no graphic design experience at all. I think it’ll help my blog (http://flimjo.com) because it’ll make it look for professional and user-friendly. I think I can write pretty well and have a lot of content I want to put up, but I need the stylistic side to mesh well, too.

Andrew Pavelski on March 26th, 2008

Hey Gyutae, I definitely wouldn’t mind a redesign, even though my theme doesn’t look bad. I’d like a nice logo, a custom sidebar, graphics, and some good advertising squares. I think it’ll make my blog look more unique… Thanks for the opportunity! URL: http://www.andrewpavelski.com

Dan on March 27th, 2008

AWESOME! This one is easy! I would love to have the CSS Rockstars prize from WTW to help build just one, only CSS template for my website TheWiister.com. It’s just a baby and only about a week old but I use the Build a Niche Store Software which comes with only a few generic CSS templates, ot have a unique template that I would be able to slightly modify for other BANS sites would be priceless. If I did win the prize and had a template build I would roll it out over my other 25 BANS sites to create uniqueness and a not so generic look. My ultimate goal would be to create 100 stores and a unique CSS Template would definately make a difference, help me and thanks!

Dear Mr. Park,

For almost half a year now, I have registered a domain for our organization – the Thomasian Scholars Alumni Association, Inc. – which aims to help poor but deserving high school students from the University of Santo Tomas. However, for some time now, the domain has remained dormant because I haven’t got a chance to complete the blog design at http://www.thomasianscholarsalumni.com. The site aims to promote our programs and possible solicit more funds for our organization’s activities.

I hope this is good reason enough to win the blog design packages either from Uzzz, Under Web Designs or Future ROI. Thanks!

Though I’ve dabbled in it, the truth is, I suck at web design and could use a good layout once my social network gets going.

Website in need of HELP!!: http://blog.ConchoLakeAZ.com
I want it ALL! I want a website that is colorful and artistic, but not distracting for the reader. I need it to reflect the beauty and the growth of the community that I blog about. A new blog theme to help promote community pride and help attract investors to the area in order to help this community to continue to grow.
I have been trying to personalize my stock blog theme with my limited skills, but I know that the website could be so much more. I would love to have the following on my site:
1. a random header to display a photo samples of the area or a flickr plug-in to display random photos from my flickr account (user id: concholakeaz)
2. be able to set up the 125 x 125 ad slots on the website to help support the site and the community activities that my husband and I donate to
3. to be able to install those cool plug-ins that displays the commentators icon to help people feel more like a community member
4. would love to have a calendar event plug-in so people can post community events on the website
5. have the RSS Feed logo on the blog so it is easier for readers to subscribe.
Thank you for the opportunity to participate in this wonderful contest. Out of every prize you have to offer, the blog redesign would be the biggest help. 😀

I just don’t have time to get my website looking the way I want. Ideally it would be extremely simple but interesting and classy. Text based with very little images and NO flash. I would want the ability to update it myself though.

Hmm we’ll see!

I love the Studio Press theme from Daily Blog Tips but I also hate when I happen to come across a site that has the same theme. Our site then feels very unoriginal, and I’m also unable to use the logo I had designed for the site. I think out site has great potential and will only continue to get better as I am able to learn new tips and tricks for it, but it’d also be great if someone did all those tips and tricks for me, including maximizing the potential of ads, showcasing our logo, and just making the site an overall awesome place to visit.

DotDriven on April 2nd, 2008

I suck at graphics and it would be blasphemy for me to say I am a designer lol. All of these sponsors look pretty talented and winning any of them would be pretty cool. But what I could use most is a complete blog design/redesign and overhaul. Since I have been blogging I have always had to rely on premade free themes, which there are plenty of great ones, but it’s just not the same as having a great personalized theme. Not only do I think it would be awesome to have a blog that actually looks professional but I also king of think if I had an awesome custom design it would actually get me even more excited and motivated to spend even more time working on the actual content. I’d really love to get blog http://celebritydude.com/ fixed up with a professional and exciting design and fix it up how I’d really like it rather than that silly free theme lol.
