If you’ve been following me for some time now, you know that I’m a big fan of membership sites and continuity programs as an online business model. Not only do they offer lucrative income streams, but they’re relatively easy to set up and get started. All you really need is passion for a topic, expert knowledge (either you or a partner), and some technical and marketing know-how. It’s not easy to make money of course (despite what the “gurus” like to say), but the profit potential is huge once things click into place.

Last year, I reviewed RevResponse, an ad network that enables website owners to generate revenue by providing their visitors with free business resources like trade magazine subscriptions, white papers, books, and software trials.
What makes RevResponse different from most other ad networks is that it’s not based on a CPC model (like Google Adsense) nor is it based on affiliate commissions since the offerings are free.

A few days ago, I told you why I love the membership site business model and why I think it offers the biggest Internet marketing opportunity online . Check out the link if you missed it.
On a related note, today I want to discuss and review Yaro Starak’s new launch of Membership Site Mastermind . As you may know, Yaro is a very successful blogger over at Entrepreneur’s Journey and has done very well for himself by selling subscriptions to his first membership site, Blog Mastermind. In fact, he traveled the world for 8 months in 2008 and still managed to make over $150,000 by working just a few hours a day. Proof that this stuff really works…

If you’ve been following Winning the Web for the past year, you know that I’m a huge fan of membership sites and the business opportunities that they present. If you don’t quite understand what they are, membership sites are essentially protected sections of premium content where users pay for access. For example, popular sites like SEO Book and SEOmoz use the membership model.
I like membership sites for a number of reasons.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past couple of years, you know that the world is under a large-scale global recession. Countless companies are scaling back and hundreds of thousands of people have already been laid off from their jobs. It’s scary out there, with no end in sight.
So what are you to do? It seems like the widely followed career path of “going to a good school and getting a stable high-paying job” has come crashing down. No one is safe in this economy and no one can help you – not even the government. There’s only one thing you can rely on right now… and that’s yourself.

Do you want to make money online selling information? My last two articles focused on why you need to sell information products and then how to actually create them. Today I want to finish up the series by describing the best way to market your products and get people to buy.
There’s so much free information on the Internet and even the paid content is gaining a lot more prominence. With all of the competition, why should anyone buy from you? What makes your customers choose you over the other options? It comes down to three components – presentation, personality, and perception of value.

A common question many Internet marketers have is, “what do I sell online?” In fact, it could be a question you’re asking yourself right now – especially if you don’t already have an established business. What’s the best way to make money online? Is it through selling advertisements on your blog? Selling collectibles, jewelry, or sporting goods? Providing consulting services? With unlimited opportunities and countless ideas being pushed every day, it’s no wonder why Internet entrepreneurs and marketers are always so confused.
So what’s the best product to sell online? Without a doubt, it’s information.
