My Experience At ThinkThank 2009, the Hottest Internet Marketing Event of the Year
October 3, 2009 - Written by Gyutae Park
Earlier this month, I had the amazing opportunity to go to ThinkTank, DK’s Internet marketing networking event on the beaches of San Diego (not to be confused with the ShareASale ThinkTank version). The invitation-only “conference” normally costs $3,000 to attend, but thanks to a contest organized by Andy Liu over at Inspired Startup, I pretty much had an all-expense paid trip there. Thanks again Andy!
To participate in Andy’s Startup Challenge contest, all you had to do was write a blog post describing your biggest challenge as a start up. I wrote about finding passion, both in yourself (as an entrepreneur) and in others (your partners), and apparently the post resonated with a lot of people. Check it out: How to Solve the Biggest Challenge For Your Online Startup Business

Win a Free Pass to Elite Retreat 2009 – I Dare You!
November 25, 2008 - Written by Gyutae Park
In April of 2008, I had the privilege of attending the Elite Retreat Internet marketing conference held in San Francisco. Best of all, I went for free (normally $5,000) because of a sweet contest held by John Chow and Rocket Profit. You can read my review of the event here: Elite Retreat Review – Is It Really Worth $5,000?

Elite Retreat Review – Is It Really Worth $5,000?
April 11, 2008 - Written by Gyutae Park
I got back from Elite Retreat in San Francisco a week ago but haven’t really had a chance to talk about my experience there until now.
As many of you know, I won the pass through John Chow’s Rocket Profit contest so I was able to enjoy all of the great benefits for free. Admission usually costs a steep $5,000 but I think the conference is well worth it for serious Internet marketers and business people. Where else can you network and learn from guys like Shoemoney, Aaron Wall, and Brian Clark on a personal level?

FutureProof Your SEO Efforts or Be Left Behind
February 27, 2008 - Written by Gyutae Park
Being an SEO myself, my favorite session at ASW08 this year was “How to Futureproof Your SEO Efforts” led by Wil Reynolds of SEER Interactive. It had nothing to do with affiliate marketing but I think the topic of SEO is extremely relevant for all types of online businesses and is definitely important to know.
Before I recap the session, I’d like to say that Wil is my new favorite African American SEO brother. Not that race matters, but it’s good to see some more ethnic diversity in the industry. We especially need more Asian SEOs. Come on people! By the way Wil, what’s up with the Asian kid being labeled as the sneaky “paid links kid”?

Video Innovation in Affiliate Marketing – You Better Be Using Video
February 26, 2008 - Written by Gyutae Park
The Video Innovation session at Affiliate Summit West 2008 was moderated by Melissa Salas. director of marketing at Buy.com. The panel consisted of some of the top video gurus including Tim Carter (AskTheBuilder), Joel Comm (Next Internet Millionaire), Brian McCarthy (Revver), Steve Rosenbaum (Magnify.net), and Gary Vaynerchuk (Wine Library TV).
Video is supposedly the next big thing, mainly because people not only want to read content but they want to actually see and hear what’s being communicated.
Why video?
Below are some reasons why you should be using video on your sites.

Jason Calacanis Thinks Affiliate Marketing is BS – ASW08 Keynote
February 26, 2008 - Written by Gyutae Park
Affiliate Summit West in Las Vegas has been an eye-opening experience for me. Never before have I been surrounded by so many like-minded and interesting people who are passionate about what they do with their online businesses.
The event officially started off this morning with a keynote from Jason Calacanis, co-founder of Weblogs, which later sold to AOL, and more recently founder of Mahalo, a human-powered search engine.

I’m Going to Elite Retreat – My Crazy Winning Streak
February 11, 2008 - Written by Gyutae Park
Wow, I sure am on a roll. If you remember a couple months back, I won a free full conference pass to the Affiliate Summit on Ian Lee’s blog. Now I’ve just learned that I won a free ticket worth $4,995 to the Elite Retreat conference held in San Francisco on April 3-4 (along with Zac Johnson). Pretty good winning streak if you ask me. John Chow held the contest, which was sponsored by up and coming affiliate network Rocket Profit. Basically, the contest called for readers to choose an offer on the Rocket Profit network and to write up a blog post describing the strategy they would use to promote it and make money. You can view my entry here: Make Money Online with Rocket Profit Affiliate Marketing – A Step by Step Example.

I’m Going to Affiliate Summit 2008 West, Are You?
January 4, 2008 - Written by Gyutae Park
It looks like I’ll be attending Affiliate Summit 2008 West in Las Vegas next month. Thanks to the contest held by Ian Lee of ADS-Links.com, I’ve won a free full conference pass worth $1,500. Thanks Ian! I’m very excited to be attending my very first Internet marketing conference. It should be a great opportunity to learn new affiliate marketing tips, network with some of the industry greats, and have some fun in Las Vegas. Of course, I’ll be doing some live blogging at the conference sharing some of the key learnings from the sessions and updating all of you on the latest happenings at the event. Make sure you check into Winning the Web during the conference. Anyone else plan on going to Affiliate Summit? I’d love to meet all of you there.

Are you going to Affiliate Summit West?
November 13, 2007 - Written by Gyutae Park
I recently described how affiliate marketing income is most stable. What are you going to do with this new information? Learn as much as you can about affiliate marketing and start implementing on your sites for the holiday season. Also, if you have the budget, make sure you check out Affiliate Summit West, held in Las Vegas this year and probably the biggest conference in terms of affiliate marketing.
