How to Hire the Best Blogger For Your Site - Easy 9 Step Process

December 4, 2008 - Written by Gyutae Park

There may come a time in running your online business when you want to adopt the publisher model and outsource your content development. This includes your articles, your blogs, and even your sales copy. In a previous post, I talked about my success finding great programmers and designers on Elance and oDesk. Unfortunately, the search for bloggers and writers is a completely different animal and needs to be approached differently.

How to Build Black Friday Frenzy into Your Online Business

November 28, 2008 - Written by Gyutae Park

As you may know, today is Black Friday in the US, usually the busiest retail shopping day of the year where many companies put up exclusive deals and sales. It’s not uncommon to see hordes of people lined up in front of malls and electronics stores to bust through doors and snatch up the latest gadgets and holiday gifts before it’s too late. Last year I experienced the mania first-hand when I camped outside a Circuit City to buy a new LCD HDTV. Sure it was a great deal, but was it really worth it? The line stretched hundreds of feet with crazy people who were willing to pull all-nighters waiting in the freezing cold up until the break of dawn. It was a great experience (although I’d never do it again) but if you think about it, it’s pretty insane. These rabid people wait in line for hours on end, just to save a few bucks on some new toys.

November 27, 2008 - Written by Gyutae Park

First of all, I want to wish everyone in the US a happy Thanksgiving. We have so much to be thankful for living in an amazing country with freedoms and luxuries we take for granted everyday. Many of us are also blessed to have wonderful friends, family, careers, and businesses. A simple “thank you” to loved ones, partners, and coworkers goes a long way. And oh yeah, thanks for reading this blog! :)

16 Ideas For Free Products That Will Double Your Subscribers & Leads

November 24, 2008 - Written by Gyutae Park

One of the best ways to gain new leads for your blog or website is to come up with a free product of some sort. It can be anything from a free ebook to a free t-shirt depending on your specific niche. What you then want to do is offer your free product to interested users who will opt in to your email list to get it. You can easily set this up using Feedburner RSS by Email or an email list service like Aweber. People respond extremely well to incentives so this is a very effective method to significantly increase your subscriber base. If you don’t offer a free product for new signups, you’re leaving a lot of quality leads on the table.

Bloggers, Are You Spinning Your Wheels?

November 19, 2008 - Written by Gyutae Park

Yesterday I came across a post on Copyblogger entitled Is Blogging Keeping You Poor? and it opened my eyes to quite a few things that bloggers often fail to realize. Are you spinning your wheels, working hard writing posts but not really getting anywhere? It could be because you’re overlooking the following 3 concepts.

  • Bloggers fail to grow because they’re too self-reliant
  • Blogging is just one piece of the money-making puzzle
  • Blogging requires an enormous amount of creative energy

Let me explain…

8 Jobs You Can Outsource Using Elance & oDesk

November 17, 2008 - Written by Gyutae Park

elance odeskAfter launching the Internet Marketing Top Blogs list, I received quite a few questions about the script behind it and how I put it all together. The tool has been extremely effective in gathering exposure for Winning the Web and I envision it to be a top resource for the community for many years to come. What you may not know however, is that there’s no way I could have possibly created that list myself. I’m not much of a programmer and even if I was, I wouldn’t want to spend time away from my business to work on it. What I did was I hired an extremely competent programmer from India to take care of the grunt work for me. He has simply amazed me with his skills and work ethic and I couldn’t be happier with the results. It definitely was not cheap (I paid in the low 4 figures range) but in the long run I believe the benefits will be worth the investment.

What I Learned From Running the Ranksense SEO Launch Contest

November 6, 2008 - Written by Gyutae Park

The Ranksense SEO Launch Contest was a big success where everyone involved benefited in some way. The Ranksense team recruited new affiliates and made more sales, my readers won some amazing prizes (including an all-expenses paid vacation to the Dominican Republic), and I received a lot of new exposure and subscribers to Winning the Web.

Let’s break down the results of the contest…

In the time frame of the SEO Launch Contest (October 1 - November 2, 2008)…

  • The contest post had 1,631 total page views, which only translates to about 49 per day. Not spectacular and I’ll explain why later in this post.

6 Crucial Factors to Determine Whether Continuity is Right For Your Business

November 5, 2008 - Written by Gyutae Park

Do you have continuity in your online business? Last week I talked about why the continuity model makes sense. If you haven’t looked at it yet, now is the time. There are some big advantages of continuity that you may not have realized before. For example, did you know that with continuity you get continuous cash flow, long term profits, lower price points, more efficiency, higher conversion rates, and higher perceived value?

Sounds enticing, right?

Why the Continuity Model Makes Sense For Your Internet Business

October 29, 2008 - Written by Gyutae Park

What do I mean by continuity? A continuity program is anything that requires you to pay on a recurring basis to access a product. Magazine subscriptions, membership sites, pay-for-access tools, and product-of-the-month clubs are all examples of solid businesses that use the continuity model. If you think about it, a continuity program has huge potential; you’re continually paid even after creating a product and making a sale. There are opportunities to incorporate continuity into almost every business. It’s just a matter of realizing the potential, coming up with a new idea that will lure people in, and executing a proper strategy.

How to Use Magazines as a Market Research Tool For Your Sites

October 24, 2008 - Written by Gyutae Park

How many magazine subscriptions do you currently own? 1? 2? More than 3? Chances are that in the past month, you’ve at least read a couple magazine articles about various topics you’re interested in such as the upcoming US election, football, or even celebrity news. Whatever the case may be, I think we can all agree that magazines are heavily integrated into mainstream media and supply a significant portion of the information we consume.
