Are you going to Affiliate Summit West?
November 13, 2007 - Written by Gyutae Park
I recently described how affiliate marketing income is most stable. What are you going to do with this new information? Learn as much as you can about affiliate marketing and start implementing on your sites for the holiday season. Also, if you have the budget, make sure you check out Affiliate Summit West, held in Las Vegas this year and probably the biggest conference in terms of affiliate marketing.
Why attending Affiliate Summit is important
You can learn from the sessions at the conferences but this isn’t the main reason why you should go. In fact, most of the sessions are either captured on video or summarized in blog posts the day after. The main reason why you should attend Affiliate Summit and many other conferences like it is for the networking opportunities involved. There are going to be hundreds of Internet marketers walking around willing to talk to you and get to know you. You will meet future business partners, friends, and mentors in the industry and this opportunity is something you cannot afford to miss out on. Meeting people face to face and networking live is completely different from leaving comments on other blogs and chatting via instant messenger. So break out of your shell and get moving. I’ll see you at Affiliate Summit West!
Can’t afford to go to Affiliate Summit?
A full conference pass to Affiliate Summit costs $949. This obviously is not pocket change and is more than what most affiliates have made in the entire lifetime of their business. If you cannot afford this price tag, I suggest you either try to sneak in (just kidding), win some money by gambling in Las Vegas, or take part in some of Affiliate Summit pass giveaways going on right now. Zach Johnson is giving away 3 free full conference passes through a contest on his blog. Ian Lee is also giving away 2 free full conference passes on his Internet marketing blog. Make sure you check these out and give it a shot. All you have to do is post a comment or link to their post on your own blog. Hey, maybe it’s your lucky day. Good luck.

We’ll have plenty of security there.
Another way to get a pass is to submit a video about why you want to go.
See http://blog.affiliatesummit.com/2007/11/01/enter-the-affiliate-summit- 2008-west-video-contest/ for more details.
Hey Shawn,
Thanks for dropping by! Sorry to hear about your tight security (psh, I bet I can take your bouncers out.. haha)
The video contest is also a great idea. I suggest you all submit your entries!
Do you know when there will be another one in Vegas?
I go there but I always miss this stuff.
@Jerlene
We don’t schedule dates for 2009 this far out. We’ll be in Boston in August.
Ever going to be in Hawaii?
Maybe on vacation, but no plans to run a conference there.
I will be at the Affiliate Summit in Las Vegas. This will be my first Affiliate Summit. I am looking forward to taking it all in. I’m afraid that three days is not enough. I attended the NYC ad:tech and it certainly was not enough time. I’m not comparing the two, I am saying that these industry conventions are so valuable, especially to a noob like me. Keep up the great blogging here Gyutae!
Thanks Brett. I’m looking forward to Affiliate Summit as well. It should be a great time of learning and networking. See ya there!
