Last year, I reviewed RevResponse, an ad network that enables website owners to generate revenue by providing their visitors with free business resources like trade magazine subscriptions, white papers, books, and software trials.
What makes RevResponse different from most other ad networks is that it’s not based on a CPC model (like Google Adsense) nor is it based on affiliate commissions since the offerings are free.

You may have noticed that posts here on Winning the Web have been pretty light the past couple of weeks. But don’t worry, I am not neglecting you guys – promise. In fact, I’ve been incredibly busy working on a few new projects…
1. A friend and I bought a site in the personal finance niche. It has pretty good cash flow already so we’re hoping to build it up into a leading resource in the industry. It’s my first hand at a 5-figure site purchase so it’s very exciting stuff. I’ll provide more details on that experience in a future post.

There are a ton of affiliate networks out there offering different benefits and payouts. In fact, I review a lot of them here on Winning the Web – most recently the up and coming Tatto Media. But with so many networks and offers available, how do you effectively keep track of them all? Isn’t it better to just stick with one?
No, not really. Ideally, you want to try out different networks so that you can maximize payouts and get a better sense of what works for your campaigns. The best way to accomplish this is to use a free tool like Offer Vault to compare thousands of offers and payouts from the top affiliate and CPA networks. Let’s go in depth into what Offer Vault offers…

I don’t know about you, but I’m a huge fan of WordPress (version 2.8 just came out, by the way) – a blogging content management system that’s extremely simple and flexible, yet very powerful. In fact, I use it here on Winning the Web and on most of my other content sites. One of the biggest benefits of WordPress is that it offers a theme system that allows you to change the look and and feel of your site with a single click. How awesome is that?

Affiliate marketing is hot. How do I know? Because there is a TON of competition amongst affiliate networks – which are all trying to gain attention by rolling out new features and providing exceptional support. To them, the end goal is to lure in top advertisers and affiliates so that they can gain market share and make more money – even if it means giving away free pizza deliveries. 😉

As you’ve seen from my book, The Winning Way – Ultimate Checklist of 500+ Proven Internet Marketing Strategies, there isn’t a shortage of methods to market your online business and drive traffic. In fact, the opposite is true. There are so many options out there that the real question is, what can you focus on that will yield the greatest results?
In ideal circumstances (unlimited time, money, and knowledge) you’d work on incorporating every Internet marketing strategy imaginable. Think of all the traffic you’d get. Unfortunately, this isn’t possible for any company, big or small. Much like selecting a topic for your business, Internet marketing is most effective when you go niche and focus in on a few things.

Last year I reviewed StoreStacker, a self-hosted system that automatically builds out a huge affiliate site around any theme imaginable. Building these niche stores quickly became very popular and many publishers made a lot of money. However, the biggest issue with these types of stores is that they don’t provide much value outside of the merchant sites. Why should Google rank a niche store site when all it really is is a list of affiliate links? Google quickly caught on and starting swatting these sites down.

Do you believe in your product or service enough to guarantee satisfaction? Believe it or not, people respond to your perception of your own offer. If you’re confident enough to give some sort of guarantee where you take on the risk, potential customers are more likely to trust you and buy. How can you best accomplish this? I’ll go over the advantages of a guarantee and show you how you can effectively implement one for your own business.
