One of the most frequently asked questions I get here on Winning the Web is “what WordPress plugin are you using to do X?”. I’ve been pretty generous in responding to emails and giving away my plugins, but unfortunately it does tend to take up a lot of my time. So rather than constantly answer your plugin questions, I thought it would be much more efficient and helpful for you all if I created a comprehensive list here. I’ll update it regularly so you get the latest scoop on the best plugins I’m using.

I’m extremely happy to announce the launch of my brand new book, The Winning Way – Ultimate Checklist of 500+ Proven Internet Marketing Strategies. This is a special project that I’ve been working on for the past 6 months and have literally spent hundreds of hours compiling it.
What exactly is The Winning Way? It’s essentially a checklist of over 500 Internet marketing strategies – now 118 pages long (30,785 words and growing). It’s based on hundreds of blog posts, thousands of dollars worth of ebooks, membership sites, and Internet marketing related products, and thousands of hours in valuable trial and error experience. The resource covers proven tactics in SEO, link building, blogging, and other methods of driving huge amounts of traffic to your sites.

What’s a logo worth to you? Whether you know it or not, your logo is extremely important and contributes to the overall perception of your site. It’s more than just a pretty graphic design – it represents your brand image (i.e. what your site is all about).
So should you invest in a high quality logo? I say yes. I was lucky enough to have a logo idea for Winning the Web before I started the site, but I don’t recommend this route to everyone – especially if your graphic design skills are limited. For a few hundred dollars you can utilize the talent of professional designers all around the world and get a logo you can be proud of. That’s money well spent if you ask me.

In fact, if you’ve been involved in the industry for even a short amount of time, you’ve likely heard of a few of those names. You might be a part of their email lists or buy some of their products. Whatever the case may be, you’ll find that these guys have one thing in common – they all make money by selling information products that promise the secrets to online riches. But is it really that easy? Where do these gurus get their “secret” tactics from?

Every blogger knows that an RSS feed is essential to the success of a blog. RSS enables readers to stay connected and conveniently view content through other channels like feed readers, email, and mobile phones. It’s one of the key features that allows blogs to easily distribute frequently updated content and amass huge followings. In fact, # of RSS subscriptions has become the measuring stick of success for blogs (e.g. it’s weighted heavily in the rankings for IM Top Blogs). As a blogger, you definitely want to maximize your RSS subscriber count to increase exposure and accumulate a loyal following of readers.

…is through my stomach. Seriously. I normally don’t blog about this sort of stuff, but I simply can’t let this one go by unnoticed. The folks over at Market Leverage have completely outdone themselves. Let me explain…
I was talking to Dina, the marketing manager at Market Leverage, through the comments section on one of my posts (she comments frequently here). The article was about injecting personality in business blogs and Dina commented joking that no one wants to know what my favorite pizza topping is. I replied to her, asking “why not? My favorite topping is mushroom!”. Lo and behold, a few hours later, a delivery guy from Giordano’s appeared at my front door with a boatload of food. Amazing!

A few days ago, I told you why I love the membership site business model and why I think it offers the biggest Internet marketing opportunity online . Check out the link if you missed it.
On a related note, today I want to discuss and review Yaro Starak’s new launch of Membership Site Mastermind . As you may know, Yaro is a very successful blogger over at Entrepreneur’s Journey and has done very well for himself by selling subscriptions to his first membership site, Blog Mastermind. In fact, he traveled the world for 8 months in 2008 and still managed to make over $150,000 by working just a few hours a day. Proof that this stuff really works…
